Hi, For the past few days I have been trying to get my windows 7 ultimate PC migrated to parallels desktop 7 without any success. I keep chatting with the technical support at parallels, who continue to do the same thing, and ask me to re migrate. When I do i get the same error attached. I then get an email from parallels support saying that they resolved the issue, and I should call back if I have any issues. It is quite frustrating being given this run around. It seems that windows migration work, but when it is trying to run windows i get the blue screen, and then windows goes through startup repair. It then stays there for 3-4 hours and generates the error attached. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how i could resolve the issue. Thank you Hamid
first of all about the support: they set ticket as resoled after each reply according to policy - they have nothing to do with this, but in fact you can just send an email back and your ticket would be reopened straight away. About your problem - I really think the BSOD stop message is important - i need it to search for a possible reason. This looks like Windows issue in fact. DO you have MS IIS installed? it can cause the problem. As well as IE btw. Did you try to run Check Disk before migration? I guess you may have some bad sectors on your machine. Do you have a lot of software installed on your PC? if not i may suggest you to install fresh Windows in virtual machine and migrated one just connect as a second harddrive to get all the data you had on your PC. It can save you a lot of time. PS: more about support - if you are still in the first line of support ask them to escalate you to the second one - second line works better with tough cases and have contacts with development team.
