Cannot open movie files on mac?

I have a bunch of movie clips that I always was able to open with quicktime and now it says that its a wmv file. When I select show application for the pop up window it shows me the recommended application on the windows side with the windows logos.

Seems some way the video files are interfering with windows and not allowing me to open them.

any suggestions as to how I can fix them?
