My Mac hard drive failed and was replaced. The Operating System Mac OS 10.5.8 was reinstalled, and I used Migration Assistant to restore the machine to its pre-failure condition. Now, I cannot run Parallels. I get this error message:

    Error Message:
Unable to connect to Parallels Service.
Make sure that the prl_disp_service process is active and it is not blocked by Firewall. If the problem persists, contact the Parallels support team for assistance.

    I submitted a problem report, ID 8217164.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you...

Thank you. As it turned out, I rebooted again and it worked all by itself! I did take your advice and checked for updates to Parallels, but it said I was running the latest version.
