Has anyone tried running a Canon MF3240 all-in-one printer/fax/scanner under windows running under parallels? My wife has one for her PC but no Mac driver is available. I'd like to get Parallels and use Windows to access it, but I know accessing peripherals can sometimes be a bit dicey.
Please check , that printer directly connected to Mac USB port, but not through USB - hub And also please check that in VM Configuration Editor-USB controller 1- connection option is set to Connect to Guest OS Or you can connect printer through menu Devices - USB and printer
Thanks. Actually the MF3240 is connected to my wife's PC, which has built-in WiFi. I have a wireless router attached to an iMac that both the MacBook and the PC access the internet through. I also share files on the two Macs (In principle you can access PC files too, but the results have been a bit muddy. However, I can see the MF3240 from the MacBook) So what I really want to do is share the MF3240 on the PC and access it on the Mac through the router. Is that doable?
Ok, if you see printer from Mac, it is shared, then, set VM networking to Bridged and add shared printer as described http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/honeycutt_july2.mspx
Yet again I am attempting to use this same printer with P7 on SL via USB connected to Win7/64. Drivers installed but print test fails with no error message... What is the magic required to get this working?
