I had my Canon MP830 installed and working on the Windows XP virtual system for 2 months. After a Windows lockup I did a repair of the Windows system. Now the Canon printer will not reinstall. I have tried completely removing the driver and all software, and reinstalling it. It goes fine until it gets to the point where you are to replug the USB cord and power up the printer. It won't go past that point, and says it can't communicate with the printer. I can print from the printer just fine on the Mac OS X side. I also installed (as a test) a Canon iP90 printer on the same USB port and it installed just fine. I called Canon support, but when they learned I am running Windows XP as a virtual machine using Parallels, they said they couldn't give me any support. (If it was running Boot Camp, they would). I suspect the problem could be something not right in the Registry, but don't know enough about that to venture there without some expert advice. Anyone have any ideas?
