I'm a complete Noob to Parallels desktop and just downloaded the demo. First impression is -WOW-. I was up and running in no time, connected to the internet on my first try (haven't used IE in a long while ;) ), and even my favorite 3D tool is up and running nicely (Ultimate Unwrap 3D). BUT, I can't get "Parallels Shared Folder" to work!?! Argh... I installed the Parallels Tools and rebooted both Windows and my Mac a couple times. The alias to the folder is on my Windows desktop, and when I click it, it opens but won't allow me to copy any files into it.

On the Mac side (iMac Intel Duo Core 1.83 GHz, 1 GB RAM, OS-X 10.4.8) when I open Finder, I don't see any network connections or shared folders.

When I installed Parallels, I accepted all the default settings. Apparently, the networking is working because I'm able to access the internet. It's just file sharing that appears to be buggered. Can anyone help??? Thanks!

With Windows shutdown, click on Edit in the Parallels property page. In the list on the left, click on "Shared Folders". Then, on the right side, make sure they are enabled. Now, click on the "+" button and add a folder to the list. (You can add as many as you like.)

Now, reboot Windows. When you open the shared folders alias, you'll find the folders from your Mac that you shared. You should now be able to read/write to those folders.
