I want to boot my Windows 7 Boot Camp partition in safe mode but i can't manage to do it. Even if i try safe mode in parallels, it still doesn't work. During startup, i press F8 to bring up the boot menu, then i click safe mode and the normal windows splash screen comes up with the normal windows logo, then suddenly the computer immediately shuts down and restarts. How can i solve this issue so that i can boot windows partition in Safe Mode?
Try to run chkdsk /f You may try to put "msconfig" line in start menu, open the utility and specify the machine start in safe mode at the next restart.
Cant Boot Windows 7 partition in "safe mode" to reset Password I have tried to also boot into Safe Mode but it just logs in normal. I try and hit F8, nothing happens. I need to reset the password of the user without the disk and would like to boot into Safe Mode so I could resolve my login issue.
in order to login into safe mode you need to make sure VM grabs the mouse pointer. So you need to click inside the VM window while it boots up (probably several times) and press F8 at the same time
Hours of impossibly trying to start in safe mode I have a problem with Avast and the only way I can uninstall it is starting in safe mode and running a downloaded program. For the life of me...I dont know how to start windows in safe mode in parallels...both of your solutions simply dont work. Using msconfig there is selective startup and diagnostic startup this still doesn't allow me use in safe mode, because Avast still loads in these set ups....the whole thing is absolutely impossible. It doesn't work. I cant tell you how many times I've restarted window...with a grabbed or not a grabbed mouse...pressing F8 or even selecting keyboard and "sending f8" tapping, slamming and all but headbutting the keyboard. I seem to be turning the music on and off most of the time in Mac....so then I press function f8 and any other bloody combination of buttons....I'm thinking of deliberately installing a virus just to force windows to crash to automatically start in safe mode...I'm at the end of my tether I bloody hate windows...anything to do with windows is always a bloody ball ache. I hope Microsoft die a slow painful death similar to the one they have made me die of many many times. If any of you have a anyway of starting windows in safe mode in parallels, please tell me....is it too much to ask to just have a bloody button that just says "restart in safe mode"? Does Mac need a safe mode...crikey Moses...I've wasted an other entire afternoon of my life. Someone kill me please.
I figured it out... ...go into Start>run>msconfig Go into the "boot" tab and select the box "SAFEBOOT" tick the box for, and then it will ask if you want to restart. Click yes and it will start in safe mode... I hope I saved you hours of painful work
and no... ...that is not what Yana Yana said...going into the configuration utility and saying start in safe mode is ridiculous....there is a start up tab with various ways of starting up (seelctive, diagnostic etc..)..it is not intuitive at all, I'm computer literate and needed better direction than that please...sigh
