I have an external hard drive formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) file system and want to reformat it in NTFS so my Windows Vista Guest Machine will recognize it as an external hard drive rather than as a shared folder, enabling me to use it as a backup device with Windows Live OneCare. Windows Live OneCare will not back up to shared folders as far as I can tell. When I try to reformat the drive on the Mac OS, Mac allows me to format it as a FAT 32 drive. Because of the limitations of FAT 32, I tried converting from FAT 32 to NTFS in Vista, but after doing so, neither Mac nor Windows recognized the NTFS partition.
    I'd be grateful for suggestions.
