Can't Init Direct3D

    hey all...please forgive me if this is a complete no0b question, but i can't find an answer, soooo: whenever i try to run a game under Windows 7 (running as a guest on my MacBook Pro/Lion 10.7.3), i get an alert saying "Can't Init Direct3D" and the game never runs. how do i rectify this situation?
