Hi, I upgraded to 1884 from 1862. Everything works fine, but I can't install the new version of Parallels Tools. I choose the menu "VM > Install Parallels Tools...", the warning dialog comes up, I hit OK, and then ... nothing. I've tried shutting down XP and Parallels several times, tried sleeping the Mac, rebooted the Mac, redownloaded the DMG and reinstalled, but still no luck. Any help appreciated! james.
Hi, I had the same issue. Installation from the VM > Install Parallels Tools.. did nothing. I resolved this by copying the Tools installer over to Windows and running it directly from there. The tools are located in an ISO image at /Library/Parallels/Tools/vmtools.iso. Open the ISO and copy all the files onto your Windows install. I did this via a network share, but you likely also burn a CD, or email to yourself and receive the email on Windows. Once on Windows, run the PrlTools.exe file. Hope this helps.
It's a word play on my car - http://www.scion.com/ Also, apparently when the VM > Install Parallels Tools does nothing, it sometime does mount the ISO on the Windows side, and it will show up as a drive, but does not auto run.
Thank you! That was it -- I can't believe I didn't check that, but I guess I never mount CDs under Windows. Thanks first poster too, I copied the disk image and installed it manually and it worked (mostly). james.
