Trying to install Vista Home Ultimate on a brand new Intel iMac w/2G memory. I'm making the switch from PC. Have build 1970 of Parallels. I get:

Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.
    error code: 0xC0000005

I googled it, and found some advice about a problem disk image, and suggested I run some PC software to fix it. But... I'm on a Mac. This is a brand new full copy of Vista, bought this morning.

create a disk image, using disk utility (make sure you do a cd/dvd master image), of the vista disk and try installing from that.

Thanks... I need a bit more help. I successfully made a .dmg file. I opened parallels, and did a custom install using an existing hard disk image. The newly made .dmg file was greyed out. How do I install it?

Rename the DMG to ISO, they are compatible and it'll work

I renamed vista.dmg to vista.iso. Parallels OS Installation Assistant still doesn't see it.
