I bought a new MacBook Pro with Lion. I wiped the HD and back installed Snow Leopard so I could continue to use Parallels 5, and every other program not supported by Lion (I think that's all programs). I cloned my old MacBook Pro's HD to the new one. Everything else is working fine on the new Mac. I'm running Windows 7 on Parallels 5, and I can't open the VM in the new MacBook. After choosing my VM, it says "CD/DVD drive not available" or something like that and the the computer freezes and I have to shut it down. I tried setting the boot order to Hard Disk only in the preferences, and that didn't seem to help. The last time I tried to start it up it said that Windows needed to run startup restore, and it did. It then froze up again while trying to boot.

    Any thoughts?

Figured it out. I had to erase and re-transfer the VM again over firewire. When Windows gave me the option to restore Windows or start normally, I chose start normally. It worked.
