    Kodak 5300 AIO printer
Latest Kodak print driver, Parallels 5584 build
    XP Pro

I am able to configure the Kodak 5300 and make it the default. When first plugged in XP acknowledged the printer and made it the default. Everything is perfect except that when a print command is issued, the printer does not respond. I see something moving from the lower right hand corner of the desktop to the window but it happens faster than it can register with the eye. Then, the process reverses. Something moves from the upper left of the window to the lower right hand of the desktop. Just way too fast to make anything out other than a streak of movement.

The config in Parallels is set to LPT1. Being a Mac user, I have no idea what that is. I looked at the properties of the Kodak and it is set to local port. LPT1 is set to an HP Color LaserJet 8500 PS. I have deleted that printer under Printers and Faxes but it is still there when I look at Ports under properties of the Kodak. I have unchecked the box for it. The local port for the Kodak is selected. I have gone through all of the XP troubleshooting for printers but it still does not respond.

I am at a loss as to what to try next. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Still trying to print

The short answer is that I had already done that and the printer still does not respond. I have stopped Parallels desktop, entered the configuration editor. I see, under "Resource," Parallel 1 and Eastman Kodak Company KODIAK 5300 AiO selected. The device status is Enabled. Connect at startup is selected. Emulation is "Use printer."

Under Resource, USB Controller, the description is "Ask me what to do." Is that somehow connected to the problem?

More info. When I look under Parallel's Desktop under Devices, sub-menu Parallel 1, I see the Kodak 5300 but it is dimmed.

    Hello Cygnusx3,

Can you print from the same printer on Mac side? How many printers are connected to your Mac?

Another way to use your printer is to connect it as a USB device. In Configuration Editor, USB Controller section set Connection Options to Connect to Mac OS X. When you start Windows, connect the printer to Mac through USB port and choose it from Parallels Desktop menu bar -> Devices menu. Install the native drivers for your printer.

    Best regards,
    Xenos
