    I've just moved departments and my new network runs DHCP. Parallels won't connect. When I ran ipconfig it still lists the old static IP address. The VM instance was on Bridged > Default Adapter. I swapped it for shared networking but no luck. Then swapped back to bridged and still no luck. Any ideas?

    Hello VirtualBob,

    Please let me see the output of the following commands:

    ipconfig /all from CMD on Windows side (Start -> Run -> type cmd);
    ifconfig from Terminal on Mac side (Application -> Utilities);
    tracert www.parallels.com from CMD on Windows side.

    Could you copy the texts of the outputs to your next post (attached screenshots are often too small to see anything).

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    Yikes - no thanks. Don't want to tell the world my network settings. I found the issue. I spent 2 hours trying to understand what could be easily explained in minutes. Parallels has instructions and support notes that confound and confuse.

    I set my XP instance to DHCP and did a reboot and it found its own address off my workplace network.

    Thanks anyway,

    vb

    Happy to know you have worked it out, VirtualBob.
    Network issues are numerous and you can never guess what the cause is if you do not have enough information.
    You can also use Parallels e-mail or phone support if you need help and would not like to post the details on the forum.

    Best regards,
    Xenos
