with macOS 15 host and guest, i CAN log in with Apple ID in system prefs But i can NOT sign into app store Will apple be updating their libraries, and providing a method that you can use to implement this critical feature, or will you somehow be able to provide this feature? note i am NOT looking for a workaround, i'm looking for an ANSWER to the above question?
I am seeing this behavior as well. iCloud is working fine and I can log in and out through Settings. But attempting to download something from the App Store causes this Apple Account login panel to appear. It gives this "unknown error" even though the password is correct. (If I enter an incorrect password, the panel says specifically that the name or password is wrong.)
https://kb.parallels.com/en/130233 Known Limitations Signing into the Mac App Store is not supported (confirmed limitation). Signing into the Xcode app with an Apple Account fails with HTTP error 401 (under investigation). Using a macOS 15 installer to upgrade an older VM doesn't provide support for iCloud. See more information in the Apple Developer documentation.
i didn't ask what the "known limitations" were, i asked "will you provide this feature in the future?". and more specifically, when.
Great. Just wasted my afternoon on this. Trying to do some testing on Apple Music in MacOS 15 for a customer and can't sign in to Music with Apple account - unknown error. Host is a MacBook Air m1, upgraded from Sonoma, the VM is the same and because it's been upgraded to macOS 15 it doesn't work. The whole point of a VM is it's supposed to be a virtual machine, not a virtual almost-machine.
Cannot be done. It's a limitation. I tried adding Apple Account and even signing into the App Store and it didnt work
I believe this is a limitation of MacOS and how virtual machines are setup on it. I don't have the page off hand, but I'm pretty sure if you search announcements and known issues these limitations are being worked on together by Apple and Parallels engineers.
i find nothing on the internet about "worked on together by Apple and Parallels engineers", can you please provide a reference?
