I tried to install Thief II to my Parallels Desktop 4.0 with latest updates. By some reason installation stopped in the beginning when installshield progress bar was reached 100%. Nothing happened during next 5 minutes, drive was just running. Due of that I removed cd from the drive and tried to suspend windows because Windows explorer stopped to answer due of installation problem. Maybe this caused by copy protection or something.

After that I couldn't see the CD icon on Mac desktop and DVD drive is "running" all the time. I cannot eject this damn Thief II game cd. Drive runs all the time even after switching computer power off and starting it again. Normal eject doesnt work.

All following hints on following list are tested but without success:

IMac: 2.93 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo + 4 GB memory
Game: Thief II (Sold out version of the original Eidos game)

Any ideas how to eject cd from DVD drive or at least stop its motor?

I found the solution. Problem was the process / processes that were haunting in the "memory". Killing those darn ghost processes and rebooting after that with mouse button trick helped me out.

Just show the processes and find the process / processes that are causing the problem (even after power off).

    Code:
    ps -ef
    sudo kill <process number>

After that reboot the computer and press the left mouse button down during early startup. I have wireless USB keyboard (not bluetooth) and it worked ok. Hopefully this helps if someone faces similar challenges.

I tried to read the same Thief II cd again to image file but drive doesn't recognize the cd and now ejecting is again impossible.

After 3 hours googling decided to try credit card trick. I put credit card in the drive and set turned mac power on. After that cd ejected.
