I am running into some issues. I had CentOS 5.3 installed and upgraded to 5.4 and installed Parallels Tools and now the machine won't start up.

So, I gave up and decided to download the latest 5.4 image. I have to say that in Parallels 5, they fixed what ever issue it was I had to go thru to install it on Parallels 4. Anyway, 5.4 will start to install until you get to the part where it looks for dependencies on the software. Then you get the unhandled exception and the whole process stops. I have tried both the 32 and 64 bit versions and it does the same thing no matter what. This does not seem to be solely a Parallels issue. VMWare has the same issue. It could be an issue with the actual CentOS installers but I'd think that it would have been fixed and reported already. So, I am left with thinking that this is a situation where the vm software has not been setup to handle whatever it is going on. I am a loyal Parallels user and hope we can find a solution.

On another note, it'd be nice if Parallels could find a way to simplify the install process for the tools. It sucks having to Google a fix every time I try this process of installing the tools.

Anyway, any suggestions on how to fix this 5.4 installer issue?

    Thanks,
    Steffan
