Changing display resolution? Programs in 3 working, now in 4 they are not working

Changing display resolution ? Programs in Parallels -3 working, now in 4 they are not working. When I try to open two programs:

Adobe photoshop elements 5 and crazy talk they both tell me

I have to have minimum resolutions of 1024x768.

When I do the right click to properties then settings in windows, It will allow me to change the settings, but when I click OK or APPLY they do not stay.

If I resize the actually parallels window, and I check the above (right click to properties then settings in windows) it does show me the ''current'' window size but there is no way I can make , drag the window to be the resolution I need.

So how do I use these programs? The reason I got parallels was to run my windows programs.

 

First of all, you can try reinstalling Parallels Tools if there is a video adapter issue.

Also, I would suggest to check for the screen resolution on a Mac side: System preferences -> Display. I doubt Parallels would be able to set the resolution for the virtual machine higher than it is on the Mac side.
