Hello, We are currently testing 2x and hyper-v for windows 7 vdi's, we have been looking at shutting down vdi's once they been finished with, this is reduce the foot print and usage on the hyper-v hosts. Have tried save, stop and suspend. Both have problems: Save: Saves the state, but it can take the same amount of time to access a vdi as a fresh boot vdi Suspend: Enters the machine into a pause state (so same as above) Stop: just turns off the vdi and then on boot we have the usual selection of safe mode etc Any ideas? Chris
chris i have just read this post and although quite old i wanted to see whether u managed to resolve it, as i did not have the same issue with versions alter than the date u posted this... thanks!
Nope cannot get the machines to cleanly shutdown, so have to keep them in current state as I dont trust saved provision. Have just upgraded to the latest version and still have the same issue!! VDI (Windows 7 Enterprise SP1) VDI Host (Windows 2008 SP1 - HyperV) Cheers Chris
