Copy/paste did not seem to work out of the box for Ubuntu 14.04 under Parallels 10. After a default installation and creating an Ubuntu 1.04 image, I noticed that Parallel Tools seems installed (based on the Action menu saying "Reinstall Parallel Tools") and the Share Clipboard box is checked under preferences. The global paste (control-V, command-V, or paste from the Parallels Edit menu) will do nothing except perhaps generate ^V. Instead, each application has its own way of pasting. In emacs, the contents is already in the kill ring so control-Y will yank it out. In terminal, control-shift V will also work. Is this really how it's supposed to work? If so, what would be the point of the Parallels Edit menu having a paste command if it doesn't work across apps.
Hello Perry, Go to the Parallels Desktop menu > Preferences > Shortcuts tab > System Shortcuts > set 'Send System Shortcuts' option to 'Always'. To copy and paste text, you should use the standard procedure for the current operating system. For example, to copy some text in the Windows guest OS, select the text, and press Ctrl+C. To paste this text in Mac OS X, press Cmd+V, or select Paste from the shortcut menu. If the issue still persisting please follow the steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/118876 to install Parallels Tools again and check if the issue still persisting.
