I have a Ubuntu 12.04 vm running on a Mac (10.9 Mavericks) and it works great (Network connection is good). I shutdown the VM and select File | Clone. After the cloned vm is created, I start the clone. The message "Waiting up to 60 more seconds for network configuration..." appears. When the vm gets to the system prompt, ifconfig does NOT have a eth0 entry. The original vm continues to start promptly and have a eth0 connection. I have tried this creating a template first then a clone of the template and directly from the good vm multiple times with the same results.

    Thanks

http://kb.parallels.com/en/8102 fixes this problem.... the kb should to be updated to show it can occur in Mac Desktop 9.0, maybe this should be in the FAQ for cloning Ubuntu guest VM. Ubuntu stores the MAC address in the eth(x) definition, and Parallels cloning changes the MAC address. I hope this helps someone in the future.
