I recently upgraded to Parallels 5 and installed Windows 7 on my machine. I since have tried creating a new partition on my macbook by using BootCamp. When I try this, BootCamp cannot create the new partition because of an error that "BootCamp cannot move some files." After some research it seems that this issue is because of the parallels VM HD .pvm file. The recommended suggestion is to copy this file to a new location and then try to create the partition. For some reason I am unable to copy/move the .pvm file. Basically, I can't do anything with it and I have the correct permissions. The other step I would take as a result of this issue is to clone the Parallels image file to a new location, delete the old .pvm, and then try partitioning my drive. However, I am unable to do this option as well because when I try to clone my Parallels .pvm image file, half way through, I get a Parallels Clone error saying that "the drive could not be cloned...make sure you have the correct permissions and the target folder is accessible and not in use." I am at a loss, I have done a lot of research and the Parallels file seems to be the problem. I would like to find a solution to this problem that does not involve me deleting Win7 from parallels..Any suggestions? Thanks. 2.4GHz Intel Macbook 2GB RAM James S.
