Hi i just got a mac for my gf and she needs IE for her work because the online app doesnt support firefox or safari that well. So i installed parallels beta 2 for her and was wondering whats the easiest way to setup coherence for her so that she can just access IE. This is what i was able to accomplish: automatically load xp when opening parallels and switch to coherence, i put IE in the start up menu in xp so that it loads, but is there a easy/nicer way of doing. because it still shows the loading of xp and it opening IE then it waits a few seconds and finally switches to coherence mode.

basically to sum up the question is there a way to have like a IE icon in the dock and have it load IE from xp without having to go through all that? I want it really easy for my gf as shes not too tech savy.

    thanks

The best solution for you (if you can get it to work) would be to get IE installed using the WINE crossover product. In that you don't even need to load windows. IE runs natively using the WINE crossover technology. Then you can as you say have an Icon that loads IE directly. No need for windows.

I loaded this but had all kinds of problems trying to load Outlook for the same basic functionality.

yea i just found the program a few minutes ago and already got it installed with IE6, its fine, but you can tell it doesnt run as smoothly as ie6 via parallels, but it loads a lot quicker. i'll give the 60 day trial a shot and let my gf decide which she likes more. thanks for the help:)
