I have been using Parallels since the Build 1970 (Aug 2006) and have never had the problems I am now.

I'm having a compressed font problem printing checks (Quickbooks Pro 2013) using Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac (Build 8.0.18354) and my Brother MFC-7340 All-In-One printer ... the fonts are small, compressed, and not the font type chosen ... letters randomly overlap . Financial reports are just as bad. I am using a Windows XP VM. I had the same problem running Parallels 5 with Quickbooks Pro 2012 and the same Windows XP operating system.

Any "ASAP" help would be appreciated as I am not excited about switching to the inferior Quickbooks for Mac ... but will have to if I can't solve this problem as Intuit (owns Quickbooks) will not support Windows versions of Quickbooks running on Parallels VMs.

    Distorted printing

    Similar problem just started.
Have been using Parallels Desktop for years without any issues. For no apparent reason all printing is either compressed or has additional spacing making the document barely readable.
Printing normally from Mac Os software but allo Windows programs affected.

I have the same issue and was wondering if Francis50 or Marley have figured out how to solve this problem on their own. I would appreciate any help.

I found a solution for the compressed printing problem with Quickbooks 2013. Delete the printer in Windows. In your mac, under system preferences, under sharing icon, make sure the printer is being shared to everyone. In windows, go to the apple website and download the Bonjour for windows. Install the programs and follow instructions to find the printer you are using and then make it the default printer in your windows. The printing is again back to normal in Quickbooks.

    Thank You toddhm!!

A big THANK YOU to toddhm ...I deleted my printer from Windows, I downloaded the Windows version of Bonjour, opened Bonjour wizard from Windows and followed the setup... and it worked! No more compressed font/type in Quickbooks 2013.

    A huge thank you !!

This not only fixed my printing problems for Quickbooks Pro 2013 but on all of my Windows programs which had similar issues (wrong font, random spacing, etc). All gone now -- Yay !!
