I have already installed an activated copy of windows 8.1 on my bootcamp and am currently thinking of using parallels desktop together. But before that, I have viewed quite a number of online posts which aroused my attention on the potential issues:

    1) I know some of the users have experienced the reactivation issue after the installation from bootcamp partition. I have already installed not only windows but also quite a number of licensed softwares and I definitely would not like to reactivate all of them once again. May I know if this issue still exists or not?

    2) Since I have some really important stuffs and softwares installed on my bootcamp partition, I have to ensure that all of them would be unaffected in case I am uninstalling parallels desktop in the future. I have already read through the instructions listed on http://kb.parallels.com/en/5029 but I still got confused on the last few steps. So should I select "Keep files" or "Move to Trash" for the uninstall? What sort of files will it delete if i select "Move to Trash"?

Thank you so much! I am new to Mac and have no idea of literally everything.

    Hi Dennis1,
    1. Windows operating system detects the hardware change and presumes it to be installed on a different machine. Virtual hardware is different from the real hardware (where Boot Camp is installed) and can cause such confusion for software. please go through http://kb.parallels.com/9703 to know more about Windows Virtual Machine installed from boot camp.
    2. If you use Boot camp as a Virtual Machine and if you want to delete a virtual machine in Parallels Desktop for Mac, deleting a Virtual machine will not cause in any loos of data, because, all the changes you are doing on the Virtual machine will be saved on the native boot camp if you set up the Virtual Machine as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/112941 . If you import Windows and your data from Boot Camp into Parallels Desktop as suggested at option 2 on the article http://kb.parallels.com/112941 , in this case if we delete Virtual Machine all files and data will be delete.
I recommend you to visit this article with instructions and video tutorials: http://kb.parallels.com/122673
