Hello Parallels guys I really love Parallels. It's the best buy I've done for my Macbook. However, when I do file associations to some Windows programs and I open a file, it will automatically resume the OS and I have to kill it after waiting a few seconds, which really bothers me. The problem is that some files in OS X is associated to a program in Windows, so when I try to open that file (let's say it's a .exe just to be sure), it will resume Parallels and start Windows. Is it possible to make a "You opened a file. Are you sure you want to resume your operating system?" popup? 9/10 times it's just an accident, but it is really, really bothering me. I hope you guys can answer this for me! Thanks
Hello Morten, It's a feature designed to save your Mac resources. Pausing a virtual machine releases the resources, such as RAM and CPU, currently used by this virtual machine. The released resources can then be used by the host computer and its applications or by other virtual machines running on the host computer. Please refer the knowledge base article http://kb.parallels.com/6860 to disable the option pausing Windows virtual machine automatically.
