Confirming Firewall is the issue?

We have a new installation of 2X Web Portal set up with 80, 81 and 443 with both TCP and UDP open and listening for connections from the Internet at the firewall.

Clients connecting from the Internet are never able to establish a connection.

I assume this is because as the connection passes through the 2X Web Portal and touches the terminal server the terminal server then reaches back out to the Internet to establish contact with the client? Is this correct?

What ports from the terminal server need to be opened on the outbound path to speak to the client? Or how can I validate or prove that the firewall is my obstacle?

    Hi Jon

The webportal is simply a tool to configure and pass parametres to the local client.

Try using just the client to connect via 80 or 443 depending on what ports you have listening on the client gateway

All communication is between the 2X ApplicationServer client and the 2x client gateway

Once you have that working, recheck the webportal

This depends how you configure you web portal, if you configure to use direct mode connections then yes the client will try to connect to the termincal servers dorectly, if you have gateway or ssl mode the client will connect to the 2x secure client gateway, this needs to be reachable by the clients therefore must be reachable from the internet.

Suggested installation is that your clients always connect to the 2x gateway and web requests are forwarded to the http server
