My iPhone 3G will not open iTunes9 when connected through USB in the OSx mode or PC mode in my iMac 27 running through Parallels5. When the iPhone is connected it shows an apple on the iPhone screen and after several minutes a small window opens on the iMac and the iTunes icon on the dock jumps up and down. I clicked on the icon and received an error stating "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800006B)." I have to remove the iPhone from its cradle to stop the error from reoccurring.

Before the iMac 27" I use to connect the iPhone to a PC without any problems on charging or syncing.

The iPhone initially was connected to a USB hub so I connected it directly to the computer, no change. I reloaded iTunes, no change. I am running Parallels so I suspended it and the Device iPhone popped up in iTunes. I then started Parallels and Device and iPhone disappeared. With Parallels suspended, and iTunes off I cradled the iPhone and iTunes started and Device with iPhone opened.

So it appears Parallels may be the culprit. Is this unique to my computer or to everyone running Parallels and iTunes? Is there a setting I have wrong?

The iPhone still will not work when plugged into the powered hub so it is plugged into the iMac for now.

I am trying the "free" version of Parallels for now.

    Thanks

I have a second iMac 27 and get the same results with it.
