Connecting to networked computers

I installed Parallels 9 and Windows 7. On my mac I have access to several networked computers and a backup hard drive. On the virtual machine when I go to the File Explorer and Network tab there are no computers shown. I went to Virtual Machine - Configure - Hardware and changed the Type from Shared Network to Default Adapter. I went back to the File Explorer - Network and two of the networked computers show, but not all of them, and more specifically the networked computer I'm looking to connect to doesn't show up. How do I connect to a network drive on the Virtual Machine that is currently accessible on my mac?
