Here is the question. I am trying to help a freind in New York City. I have Vista and he has a MAC running Parallels (Latest Version)

I installed Parallels on his MAC and Windows XP Pro. I disabled the Firewall in Windows XP and when I open DOS and do an IPCONFIG it reports that it is on the 10.x.x.x network but I am on the 192.x.x.x network.

Next I run Remote Connection and I CAN Connect to my Vista PC so the connection from the MAC running Parallels to my Windows Vista PC works. BIG DEAL. He is the one that needs my help and that is why we bought Parallels in the first place. I CANT CONNECT TO HIS MAC running Parallels and Windows XP no matter what.

Can anyone confirm if they have connected to a MAC compuer running Windows Vista form a true Microsoft PC ? If so can you provide instrcutions. I have 20 years IT experience and cant do it. I suspect that it cant be done but decided to check here.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Please change the virtual network adapter (Network Adapter 1) mode from Shared Networking to Bridget Ethernet (Default adapter en0 or en1) under Parallels - Devices menu,

    Best regards,
    John

I may have done this wrong but I remember seing default, en0 and en1. I think I did change the default to bridged and it was still on the 10.x.x.x network. Also do I need to forward port 3389 etc. Isnt their a set of written instructions for how to do this. This must be a huge request, cant beleive everyone give you bits and peices. I would be happy to write this up one I get it working. I assume from your response that you did get this working by changing the network adapter ?
