Hi I would greatly appreciate your help on an issue that is driving me crazy:

I have XP on my Parallels on Mac OS X 10.5.2 and I have it set to Shared Networking.
I am facing two different situations when I am running Parallels and trying to get onto the internet:

    1. When I am at home and connected to my wireless network , my Outlook is connected, but I cannot get to the internet via Internet Explorer (version 7).
    2. When I am in college and connected to the college wireless network, everything is fine!

    Any ideas? Please help!!!!

    Similar issue

I'm having a similar issue that I can't for the life of me solve. When at work Parallels can connect to everything fine but at home all I can access is work related things, like my work e-mail and the internal work websites. I can ping everything fine but I can't connect to any websites in IE or Firefox. wget in cygwin surprisingly works fine but just not IE. This reminds me of the old winsock days...

I experienced this when I came home from Denmark to England

I use shared networking in the VM

in Denmark I am on a LAN and it is plug and play

back in England I connect via router to TalkTalk DSL

and I was stuck until I went into Mac OS System Preferences
    and changed to
Built in Internet to using DHCP
    which this other ISP required

    Network status reads:-

Built-in Internet and Parallels NAT both have green buttons

Parallels Host-Guest is connected but has a red button like
Airport which is off because I am using wired LAN cables

Just got build 5600 after getting Sp3 forWinXp on the VM
    (the usual Mac OS reboot
and then reinstall Parallels tools to complete the update)
