    Hi -

(I saw there's a thread about control arrow but it seems to be the opposite problem that I have)

Until now I was running Mac OS X 10.8 and Parallels 8, and Control left/right worked to switch between the Windows VM (full screen on one desktop) and the Mac OS other desktops.

After upgrading simultaneously to Mavericks and Parallels 9, the Control arrows are apparently no longer being sent to Mission Control, but rather are being sent to the Windows VM.

So now every time I go into the Windows VM I'm stuck there since I can no longer switch back to the Mac. The only way I found now is to switch to Window mode (Command-Control-F), move the cursor to outside the Parallels window

    and then do Control-left/right.

This is very frustrating and I would like the previous functionality back, so that Control arrow switches desktops also when inside the Windows VM.

Check the keyboard preferences for system shortcuts.

    1. Go to the Parallels Preferences (the main preferences, not the machine configuration settings) and click the "Shortcuts" page (from the toolbar at the top of the preferences window.
    2. Select "System Shortcuts" from the navigation list on the left.
    3. On the right side at the top is a "Send system shortcuts" selection. It can be Always, Conditional, or Never. Choose "Conditional".

The other possible issue with key mappings is that Mavericks has security settings for Accessibility that need grant permission to Parallels. To check that, go to the OS X System Preferences, the Security & Privacy pane, and choose "Accessibility" on the left. Then make sure that Parallels Desktop.app is checked. I don't think this is affecting the Mission Control shortcuts, but it is worth setting anyway.
