The thread was moved from "Parallels Workstation for Windows and Linux" by Xenos Excuse me for being pissed- but this is an ongoing problem and you offer no solution
Dkaleky, I am sorry for the confusion. Copy-paste option between Host and Guest OS is not provided in Parallels Workstation. Our developers are working to implement this option in future. Best regards, Xenos
My error for posting here-- post is supposed to be in Windows Guest OS Discussion so the problem remains
Hello Dkaleky, Make sure you have Clipboard Synchronization enabled in Parallels Tools Center (double click the yellow icon on system tray). What build are you using? What is the Host OS? Best regards, Xenos
Dkaleky, please download the build 5592 and use Apple+C and Apple+V to copy-paste. Best regards, Xenos
No one can copy or paste images - it isn't currently supported. Apparently drag/drop of images is supported (but I admit I have not tried it).
Problem is not fixed- C/P of text with this latest version STILL FAILS- Problem is not fixed- I have to reboot XP still.
the problem is Parallels Tools fails- c/p wasnt working, I tried to open PT, and it wouldnt open. It was showing active in Task Manager, but I could neither force close it from there, or open a PT window up.
Tools intermittently quietly crashes (hours or days between failures, usually, with no apparent cause). Restart the Tools program, and all is well again.
Umm, this might be a bit painful, but give it a go: 1. uninstall Parallels Tools from your running VM, then reboot the VM, check it is gone and shut down the VM. 2. Uninstall Parallels from the last install image/disk you used. Let that all happen, reboot the Mac and do a repair permissions from Disk Utility. Then shutdown the Mac. 3. Flash the PRAM when cold booting your Mac (hold: "option command P R" and wait for the 3rd boot chime/gong then release those 4 keys). 4. Let the Mac boot, then using your last install image/disk, re-install Parallels. 5. Reboot and do another permissions repair. 6. Run up the VM - verify it is working as though "out of the box" 7. If happy, do a clean re-install of Parallels Tools. That is sort of how I've done my 3 upgrades (5160, 5582 and 5584) of Parallels since I first installed v3.0 off the disk. I have had no problems... YMMV
