I'm running Microsoft Excel for Mac 2011, Yosemite 10.10.4, Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac v10.2.0, Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation, and Microsoft Excel 2013. When I am using Excel for Mac and copy a cell, Parallels starts (if not already open) and spawns Excel 2013. Any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix it?
HiLtColPailR, Please go to Virtual Machine configure > options > Un check " Share Mac Applications With Windows " > Restart Windows and let us know how it goes.
The problem is fixed, but I'm not sure what fixed it. I did Ram's suggested fix and the problem did not repeat. I then went back and enabled "Share Mac Applications with Windows" and the problem did not reappear. The only other thing I can remember doing other than Ram's suggestion is to respond to the Mac dialog box asking me "Where is prl_client_app?" by selecting the Parallels Desktop application. Regardless, Thanks Ram for helping with this annoyance! Hopefully it stays fixed.
Hi LtColPailR, Glad to hear that your issue is fixed now, however, please let us know if the issue reoccurs.
