Copying files from Yosemite to Windows 8.1 folder

    I am getting problems when copying files from OS X to a mounted Windows 8.1 folder.
    Sometimes copy commands like
    cp -R sourceFolder/ /Volumes/C/TestFolder
    just hangs in the middle after having copied some files and whiteout returning any errors.
    I recently upgraded to Yosemite (10.10) and Parallels 10.1.0 (28600).
