I have had this problem since 11/15 (four days). Here's my environment: Running Corel Graphics Suite X7 (fully updated to latest versions and patches) Windows 10 running in a Parallels VM (windows updates are applied automatically) Parallels 12 updated to latest build as of this morning (11/18 to Version 12.1.1 (41491)) MacOS 10.11.6 El Capitan I have used the Corel Graphics suite in Parallels on Macs for about 5 years. It has worked very well for me until a few days ago (11/15) when it started having this behavior of instal-crashing whenever I try to open a file. It doesn't matter whether you do File>Open or click on the Open File button - the crash is instantaneous. My initial trouble shooting was to work with support at Corel. They had me do several things, none successful, including full deletes and reinstalls, cleaning up of temp files etc. None of that solved the problem. Then I thought, maybe it's a Windows problem. This morning I restored a backup of my Windows 10 VM from Nov 9. The problem still exists using that VM. Then I thought, maybe it's a problem with Parallels, so this morning I also applied the latest update to Parallels 12 (Version 12.1.1 (41491)). The problem persists. It "feels" like there is problem when the app (CorelDraw) is trying to access the file system as it tries to bring up the open file dialog. I never see the open file dialog. The crash is instantaneous. It is not related to trying to open a corrupted file, as I never get that far. Any ideas or advice to resolve this would be welcome.
I had this "feature" with Sage Winforecast select File Open and the program crashed. Eventualy tracked the the problem down to a video compatability issue with Parallels, it seemed to be the dialog box was causing the crash due to the exact size of the display window and some SNAFU in the way Parallels was handling non full screen video resolutions. Currenly I am having a possibly connected problem with Corel Draw 7 always opening dialog boxes on my Thurberbolt display screen, which is OK when the Thunderbolt screen is connected...... Reading other comments it seems that this a general Parallels 12 not being very good issue, and going back to version 11 might help. You probably solved your problem weeks ago anyway, I didn't read how old your post was until I finished typing. regards James
