Hi -- there is probably a pretty simple answer to my question, but after searching the forums I haven't found anything addressing this specific issue. I recently updated my version of Parallels Desktop to 4.0 (build 3810). My old FC6 VM stopping working after that -- no big deal, I don't keep much data under it. I deleted it and started creating a new VM, starting from an FC9 LiveCD ISO. This basically works fine, but only mounts the live image, which runs fast but of course has no persistent storage. Like I said I don't keep much data in my Linux VM, but I do want persistent users, be able to install software etc. I would try to work with an ISO that did not default to running off the CD, but Fedora is the distro I need to use, and they don't make any non-Live ISOs available. SO: The LiveCD has its own installer, which I run; after a few initial configuration choices, I get this message: Now, since I'm working on a Macbook for which there is no (native) /dev/sda, I presume that the Installer is seeing a virtual partition, which I should be free to blow away. I'm not confident enough of that, however, to proceed before asking around. Am I OK to just go ahead and let the install format the sda device, or will it actually try to reformat the laptop's actual primary HDD? And while I'm asking, if anyone knows of a web page, FAQ or forum post where this is discussed, please post links. Thanks.
Seriously, no one's had this problem? Does Parallels support ever look at these threads? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
