    it will not connect properly
it recognizes that it is connected in the hardware manager, I've unlocked all possible USB restrictions etc...through regedit
I've even tried to re-install the drivers

the thing is, on any other comp (WinXP) if I plug it in, it pops up the "new hardware detected" window and asks if I want to open it etc...

It charges fine, but doesn't allow me to open it...
and I can't open it in Mac OSX because Creative made it windows only

    anyone have a solution/workaround?

I have an IrDA device that is Windows only. Here is how I connect it, but I have no idea if this will work in your situation.

    1) disconnect device by unplugging it from USB port
    2) Shut down Virtual Machine
    3) Start Virtual Machine
    4) Click "Devices/USB" in Parallels and note the devices listed
    5) Plug in your USB device. Wait at least 10 seconds.
    6) Click "Devices/USB" and see if your device is listed
    7) Put a check mark next to your device by clicking on it in the list (from 6 above)
    8) The device will stay in the devices/usb list until you reboot the Mac, at which time you will have to repeat the above.

By the way, my USB settings are: USB Autoconnect: OFF, Device Status: Enabled, Connection Options: Connect to Mac OS X

    Your mileage may vary
