Delete Parallels 11 before installing 15, or just install over the top?

I ran Parallels 11 on a 2011 iMac running Mavericks 10.9.5. There were no issues until I came to install a clone of the Mac on another 2011 iMac - my Parallels 11 licence was recognised but Parallels wouldn't activate and kept saying 'Check your internet connection' even though my internet is full fibre "always on".

I'm now running High Sierra on a 2017 iMac and have bought Parallels 15 from eBay (one year subscription). My question is this:

Should I completely remove every last trace of Parallels 11 before I try to install Parallels 15, or do I not need to worry about that stupid error message with Parallels 15, and go ahead and install it 'over the top' of Parallels 11?

    Hello,
    Thank you for reaching out.
    Kindly follow the below steps:
    1. Uninstall the current version of Parallels desktop from your device by: Open "Finder", go to "Applications" and right-click on "ParallelsDesktop.app. Select Move to Trash.
    2. Download and install the latest build of Parallels Desktop 15 using this link: https://download.parallels.com/desktop/v15/15.1.5-47309/ParallelsDesktop-15.1.5-47309.dmg
    3. During the installation, a window will open offering to use Parallels Desktop 20, close the window.
    4. In the next window, select Use Current Version.
    5. Finish the installation and run Parallels Desktop 15.

Let us know if you can activate Parallels Desktop successfully.

    Thanks

    Ok, thank you Avinash.

    Just a couple of questions:
    1. There is a Serial Number inside the box - is that the same as the "Product Activation Key" also referred to on the leaflet in the box I bought from eBay?
    2. Once successfully installed, will Parallels 15 open all my VMs created with Parallels 11?.
