I am not exactly clear on the difference between the VirtualDesktopServr and the Application Server for terminal services. Can't the application server publish a desktop just like the virtualdesktop server? Can the virtualdesktopserver publish a single application just like the application server? If so, they why would I need terminal services? Do they both use the same client. I am looking to expand my farm and want to the difference. thanks Maurice
HI, Basically application server is part of virtual desktop also shares the same .Msi file and same 2x client. 2X VirtualDesktopServer allows hypervisor vendor independence, supporting a wide range of hypervisors, including Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, ESX, and ESXi, Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, Citrix XenServer, Oracle VirtualBox, Windows Remote Desktop Services/Windows Terminal Services and more . Virtual desktops (VDI) are load balanced while automatically suspending unused resources. To see a list of approved platforms, please http://www.2x.com/virtualdesktop/vdsapproved.html. Regards,
