So, I love Parallels. Just an amazing product.

But I decided to install Deus Ex onto my Parallels partition - yay, Deus Ex action! (This is the original, FYI) but when I play, the game is too fast - like timing is incorrect.

I ran into this on my old Vaio laptop. Basically, I needed to fiddle with the Power Management features - set it to "Home" and turn off CPU cycling or throttling or something.

Well, in Parallels I can't do this obviously. Any fixes for fast games? Older games in particular?

Thanks in advance. I'd love to play Deus Ex seamlessly.

    I'm on a Macbook 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM.

Had the same problem running the orginal Myst game under parallels. The quicktime movies would not run cleanly, and the audio would be crackly etc

I ran on of the utlities listed at this page (not sure which one) that actaully uses up some of the processor power so that older games iwll run at a reasonable pace

I went rhought about 3 of them till I settled on the one I did, but I am at work righ tnow and dont recal which one I had to install

I also had a similar problem running and older Mac game, Myst:Exile. The game control would be jerky and the audio would also break up. I had to install the Apple CHUD tools (google will find them for you) which allows me to prevent some of the cores in the mac form operating. This allowed me run the mac game without needing a reboot, and then re-enable thme once I was dne playing

    Hope this helps
