I have installed Parallels on a new imac running Leopard. These imacs are for mutiple users in a lab enviroment. The users are authenticated to both the Mac and Parallels Windows via Active Directory. Parallels is installed so multiple users can access the same windows installation. Problem is this. User Tom logs onto the Mac with his AD credentials, starts Parallels and logs onto Windows with the same credentials. Tom then procedes to close Parallels without properly closing Windows, and his windows session enters a suspend state. Tom then logs off of OSX. User Bill logs onto the Mac with his AD credentials. Bill then starts Parallels which resumes its Windows session with Tom logged on. Is there a way to turn off the suspend feature in parallels? It looks like all of the suspend features in windows are disabled and I can't seem to find any instruction to turn it off. This is a major security issue for us.
Hi, To configure quit/stop/pause behavior please open Parallels Desktop -> Preferences -> General tab and adjust the actions. Alexander
Thanks for the reply Alexander. However, What I need is a universal solution for multiple users. Is there a way I can change this so it is the default option for all users. In a lab enviroment, with possibly hundreds of users on multiple Imacs, it would be impossible for me to configure this option for each user individually. Secondly, if I chose Stop over Suspend, it does not seem to me that Parallels is letting Windows execute a proper shutdown. It looks like paralles is just forcing closed the application, which after time I'm sure will just corrupt my Windows installation.
