Howdy My XP Pro Display Property Settings has suddenly gone 'stuck' at 640X480 4-bit. If I use Device Manager to uninstall the Display Adapter 'Parallels Video Driver' I can get 'unstuck', but with a bunch of "you need video driver" prompts. Ideas? 1. Mac OS Version - 10.5.1 2. Parallels Build # - 5584 3. What kind of computer - Original Mac Pro 4. Total Physical RAM - 3GB 5. Hard Drives - 2 X 232.9GB Mirrored RAID Set 6. If you are using a BootCamp configuration or not - Not 7. Did you upgrade from a BETA - No 8. With what Build did the problem start - Saw occasionally prior to 5584, but restart would 'fix'. 9. If Parallels Tools are installed - Yes (minus 'Parallels Video Driver') 10. Anything you have tried to get things working - See above 11. Anything specific about your set-up you think we should know - No 12. If you are crashing, upload some crash logs - N/A 13. If you are getting an error message type it in and then attach a screenshot. - N/A 14. If you are having issues with a specific component (i.e. mouse, keyboard, monitor) tell us what it is. - See above
reinstall parallels tools I don't use RAID how much empty space have you? try cloning to a singel new external Firewire HD and run teh VM from there use the raid for data and to back up by cloning your VM Hugh W
reinstall parallels tools I have. Install tools and display settings are 'stuck', remove driver and I regain setting control. I don't use RAID OK how much empty space have you? 170GB try cloning to a singel new external Firewire HD and run teh VM from there use the raid for data and to back up by cloning your VM This kind of defeats the point of mirroring. I've got it working with the driver yanked, but I'm why?
Hugh, the guy wants to mirror, and I can't blame him for that... Have you tried a fresh install with the Parallels Video Driver installed? You will need to get that installed, either in the current form, or a fixed form for things to work.
