Scenario - Clients connecting from the internet are experiencing sporadic drop outs at random times (clients orginate from multiple locations to dual entry points (gateways) In use - 2X App server (v8) with clients connecting via 2X client (windows) v8 (build 819) on a mixture of host desktops (winxp, 7 & vista) - host platform is windows 2003 server standard sp2 running on vmware esx 3.5 Bizzare issue, sporaidcally throughout the day all clients will get disconnected for a few minutes then the client will reconnect them - funny thing is when this issue occurs the 2X client doesnt failover to the secondary connection which it will if the gateway is down. The only item worthy of note within 2x logs are 1. this error gets logged when timeouts occur "Failed to get MAC Address (0x0000001f) A device attached to the system is not functioning" - not sure what this means, this is on our application gateway server running in the DMZ we are going to upgrade the end user clients from v8 build 819 to build 829 which may fix this issue any ideas or thoughts would be gratefully received Thanks Dan
"Failed to get MAC Address (0x0000001f)" is not an error But an informative message this occurs when clients are on a different subnet, your issue might be related to a network problem. Regards
