I was trying to uninstall parallels tools, as I find when I upgrade the vm the tools cause major issues.

My problem is my VM is set to quit the application upon shutdown or stop. Because of this, I cannot edit the VM prefs as every time I try it tells me I need to stop the vm, but no matter how I stop the vm the application quits...

How do I get it so I can prevent the application from quitting upon VM stop if that preference is in the VM preferences and thoes can't be edited until after a stop??????????????

Furthermore, my biggest problem is every time I try to uninstall parallels tools, I get an error...

    >SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (476)

    PVENDOR: (www.parallels.com)

    $10.50.0.132

    Then if I click OK:

    Install Wizzard
    Setup has expereinced an error.
    Please do the following:
    - Close any running programs
    - Empty your temporary folder
    - Check your Internet connection (Internet-based Setups)

Then try to run the Setup again.

    Error code: -5001

Making it impossible for me to uninstall parallels tools... I tried emptying the temporary items folder & booting into safe-mode, neither of which had any effect on the error... My best alternative is to disable auto-booting and auto coherence, but I can't edit the VM prefs to do this... :(

A re-install of parallels tools appeared to fix the unable to uninstall problem, but that still doesn't tell me how to get it so I can edit a VM's properites, so my first question still stands...

When the VM is starting, select the Parallels Action menu and choose stop. Edit the VM, restart.

    same prob

I have the same issue, and cannot edit the configuration. I tried "stop" in the parallels action menu and the same thing happened. The VM stopped and the entire program closed. Still looking for a solution.
