Figured this is a good a place to ask about. Apple just released this firmware update for the Air and being the good netizen that I am, I promptly updated my mid-2013 Air. It warns you that it will reboot the machine and spend several minutes mucking up, I mean updating the EFI firmware. After it was done and rebooted, Windows (my default) came up with the Repair screen. I've booted from a recovery USB, ran SFC and gotten it to the point where it's refreshing (or resetting) my Windows 8.1 install. But it's taking ages and I'm not sure it's doing any good. I am getting resigned to doing a reinstall. Wondering if anyone else with a similar setup has had any problems with the EFI firmware 2.8 update (released June 10) and whether you guys and gals have any tips for repairing or recovering a smushed up Boot Camp partition. Worst comes to worst, I can reinstall Windows and all my software (thankfully not that much since I just got the Air from CowBoom).
