There are a couple of unfortunate consequences of running a Windows program elevated within a Parallels VM. The first one is that the program does not appear in the OSX dock (workaround: to access an elevated window, activate a Windows window (e.g. Start Menu) and Alt+Tab to the desired window).

Also frustrating is that because of the way Windows handles drive mappings (per user), the nice X: Y: and Z: mappings created by Parallels are not visible to elevated processes.

I have tried creating these mappings in an elevated context, but even when I click "remap at logon", the mappings disappear from session to session.

Is there a recommended way of making these mappings available to elevated processes?

    Thanks.
