Encrypt a file using one of the public encryption routines (like RSA ). Also maybe signing that fie with gpg / gpg2

Allow users to generate, import and export openPGP/GPG public and secret keys. Also, allow users to sign, encrypt and decrypt messages and files with those keys from Parallels Toolbox.

People want encryption, privacy and authenticity, however command line based GPG can be overwhelming and deterring to your average user. Having a simple tool right in the toolbox will encourage users to adopt encryption in their every day lives.

There are GUI-based GPG tools like GPG Suite for macOS and gpg4win on Windows, however, having the tool in the Parallels toolbox would give the openPGP/GPG standard a wider audience.

Something like Truecrypt (discontinued for some doubtful reason) would be great.

Would be nice for Parallels Tools to have a feature for encrypting folders in macOS. Especially since Apple does not have this feature.

Check out our new tool in Parallels Toolbox 5.5 - Encrypt Files.
This tool uses AES-256 encryption on both MacOS and Windows.

This is a cool feature, can we get more detailed tech specs on the encryption methodology?

The tool creates a 256-bit key from the given password by hashing numerous times; a technique called key stretching. The key is then used to encrypt the file using the widely-known AES-256 algorithm. The original filenames are also encrypted.
