Since upgrading to Parallels 6.0 yesterday I have gotten a error when using this particular software. Error 5642.

The software is called PCAD 2000. It is PCB layout software that utilizes a type of database to manage component info, etc.

In Parallels 5.0 it worked fine but now I am getting the error, not only in XP, but my Windows 7 VM as well in Parallels 6.0. All other "Real" PC's in the office with XP and 7 can access the library files just fine.

I can find no info on this error code or why this would have happened. Nothing else has been changed except the upgrade to Parallels 6.0.

I have also tried this in the latest version of VMWare Fusion and I do not get the error.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    X is a network drive.

Please ensure that the network drive X: is available within guest OS.
To check network drives you can type net use in console (To run console use Start->Run... thеn type cmd and press OK). Also check Local field.

If network drive is OK please post output from net use, generate a problem report (Help->Report a problem) and post report ID here.

    Thanks.

Mapped the drive in the guest OS and it started working. in the past I had just accessed the drive through the shared drives thru parallels and it worked fine.

    Thanks.
