    Hi,

Regarding the ongoing Mac/Windows/EVDO Blackberry thing, like most of you, I am able to accomplish the following:

    - OS X online as usual via Ethernet and/or WiFi
    - Windows online via OS X's network connection (via Parallels)
    - Windows online via Blackberry EVDO connection (USB; BB Desktop Manager & MS DUN)

However, when Ethernet/WiFi are not available (i.e. traveling) and I am online using my EDVO connection, the entire OS X side does not have connectivity. I would like both OS X and Windows to be online via either Windows' EVDO DUN connection or OS X's Ethernet/WiFi without having to reconfigure on-the-fly, but can't figure out how.

I have tried the following in various configurations with no success:

    - Enabling/Disabling Parallels' Shared Networking (& Host-only) DHCP
    - Enabling/Disabling OS X Internet Sharing from Parallels Host-Guest to Built-in Ethernet (and also en3, en4)
    - Enabling/Disabling OS X Personal Web Sharing in both Services and Firewall
    - Enabling/Disabling Windows DUN Internet Connection Sharing ** results in "unidentified network" in Windows LAN connection **
    - All the typical things found in the Parallels forum and some miscellaneous stuff found online pertaining to Verizon's phones

    My current configuration is:
    - Parallels 3.0 (5582)
    - OS X 10.4.11
    - Windows Vista Ultimate as Parallels virtual
    - Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.3.0.15

    Anyone? Thanks!

    Dan

You can get Mac OS X connected through guest's Windows Vista "Internet Connection Sharing" feature.
    Please, read this.

    Very complicated

    MaximS,

I looked at your link and proceeded to try following your guidance but it was too complicated. I couldn't find any of what you were talking about and I hate asking you for more detailed directions but it's something I would definately appreciate.

I'm not connecting to a VPN; as was discussed in the thread you posted a link to, I too would like to connect to the Internet via my Vista VM and have full use of the network connection in OS X.

One thing I absolutely don't want to do is disable my ability to connect to a network in OS X (Cabled or Wifi) and have use of it in my VM ... or have to reconfigure anything depending on which way I'm getting online (through the VM or through OS X).

Fingers crossed you'll help get me through this.

    Thanks. Dan.

How do you go online with EVDO Blackberry? Are you using GPRS connection?

    Blackberry's EVDO connection

    MaximS,

I use my EVDO connection through Windows DUN. I have tried enabling ICS for this connection but it causes the other network adapter (Ethernet) in Windows to fail. Weird.

You are on right way. The problem is wrong configuration of ICS. Try to use 2 network connection only in your Guest Windows VM: EVDO connection and Host-only Parallels one. Both connections must be alive. You need to send all traffic from Mac OS X to Internet through Host-only Parallels connection (and through EVDO connection next). Do this with default gateway ("Router") in System Preferences -> Network.
